Alexis Leconte
At Alexis Leconte, every bottle tells a story. From the vineyards in Troissy, France, comes a range of wines that showcase the unique terroir and craftsmanship of the region. With meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to traditional winemaking techniques, Alexis Leconte creates wines that capture the essence of the land and the spirit of the winemaker.
Champagne Xavier Leconte has a history dating back to 1870, founded by Onésime Leconte and currently managed by Xavier and Alexis Leconte. The vineyards are spread over several small plots in Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières, and Aÿ, with specific plots like Le Clos de Poiloux, La Croisette, and Les Cotéas. The soil composition and maturity of grapes are carefully considered for each plot, with some plots vinified only in oak barrels for subtle and complex champagnes. The winemaking process respects lunar phases and natural cycles, with practices like chilling, racking, and disgorging done in accordance with the moon's cycle. The winery has a mix of 25% wine vinified in oak barrels and 75% in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, allowing for a balance of subtlety and complexity. Xavier Leconte wines are produced with a focus on preserving the soil and producing "Terroir" wines, with Alexis ensuring the preservation of the house's values and style.
When you choose Alexis Leconte wines, you are not only treating yourself to exceptional flavors but also supporting a small, independent winemaker who pours their heart and soul into every bottle. The dedication to quality and the pursuit of excellence are evident in every sip.
